Dwarkesh presumed inner monolog: why isn't he feeling it?
> ...adding an AI to the board?
Satya presumed unconscious cope:
> It's a great example. One of the things we added was a facilitator agent in Teams. ...board members come once a quarter, and they're trying to digest what is happening with a complex company like Microsoft. A facilitator agent that actually helped human beings all stay on topic and focus on the issues that matter, that's fantastic.
Missing retort:
> The proposed AGI board member is likely at least comparable to your current ones. It is there every hour, not every quarter. The thing it will facilitate is no humans on the board.
We learn lessons every time we see big shifts in the global economy. The tech boom and the bubble that followed, we had to reinvent ourselves. Dust off "The World is Flat" and apply the learnings from that experience to the AI boom. We must stop fearing AI but rather start thinking about how we elevate ourselves. I am a result of many technology shifts throughout my 30 plus year tech journey. I am also a very excited and energized 25-year Microsoft employee working in the AI space.
Incredible interview. Satya is a perpetually underrated leader.
Thanks for the conversation.
Great insights.
I agree with Satya with the fact that legal infrastructure and delegating authority is a core problem of coliving AI.
Inspired by the discussion of AI value https://brianwilliamson1.substack.com/p/the-societal-value-of-ai-what-to?r=9t780
Satya has given the most mature take on the future of AI to date by asking to measure it against GDP, rather than fluffy terms like AGI.
Absolutely legendary conversation. And a lot of sense-making by CEO Nadella... which says a lot given the position he is in.
I love Satya but i wish he'd grasp the nettle.

Fake and horrible person.
